Terms of Service for "Your Neighbors"


"Your Neighbors" agrees to the following:
  1. To not share your address with anyone.
  2. To not display your latitude and longitude to other Facebook or "Your Neighbors" members.
  3. To remove all records pertaining to your account upon written (email) request.
By installing the application you agree to the following:
  1. To allow "Your Neighbors" to list your name, picture, affiliations, and your Facebook ID (uid) in our database indefinitely, unless you request to have it removed.
  2. To allow "Your Neighbors" to convert your address into a longitude and latitude and to use that information to calculate and display distances.
  3. To allow "Your Neighbors" to share uid, latitude, and longitude with partners for the purpose of providing locally relevant web-ads (see the FAQ for a detailed explanation).
What will my location information be used for?
All your location information is 100% confidential and there are no plans to share this information with anyone. Facebook is only able to remain free because of online ads. This revenue however is not currently shared with those of us that provide applications such as this one. Some day in order to help pay for the expenses of running the site associated with this application, we may consider whether it makes sense to use the latitude and longitude information to help deliver locally relevant web-based advertising rather than random ads of no particular interest. If you don't think this would be reasonable, please email the author with your thoughts. Protecting your privacy and creating a safe online community is extremely important to us. Your actual street address will NEVER be used for anything more than producing a latitude and longitude. We need to do this to determine who lives close to you. If you are still concerned, please keep in mind that your street address is already available to others in the White Pages (which can be accessed on the Internet or on CD-ROM) by anyone for any purpose. We simply feel that helping people meet neighbours with similar interests is a neat way of making the online world a more tangible and interesting place.
